A new product has been launched that could mean the end of “health” foods that are packed with sugar. Dr Zak has released its new product aiming to offer satisfaction for a sweet tooth while also allowing the consumer to watch their sugar intake and remain under their consumption goals or restrictions. Dr Zak’s new high protein cookies has been created to contain 15g of protein in each 60g cookie as well as a very low sugar content. This means that the snack will satisfy without blowing a diet.
A number of health snack are advertised as a good choice, but actually aren’t. For example coconut protein balls are placed in the health food category, however they contain 10g of sugar in each 42g of product. In comparison with the rest of the food and drink market, these healthy sweet snacks have the same percentage of sugar in them as a can of Tango. However, Dr Zak’s new range has been developed in order to battle the hidden sugars in healthy foods and have developed an alternative for a range of staple products. Dr Zak also have a range of healthier bread and pasta products. After the essential products were addressed, the next progression for the company was to create products for on the move. Dr Zak first started creating foods that are normally considered as off limits by health conscious consumers such as bagels, bread and pasta. However the company has worked to make them available by reducing the levels of carbohydrate and protein that are in the product to make them a healthier option.
Dr Zak has launched their high protein cookies across gyms in the UK a well as in a number of health food and sport supplement shops. The cookies were first launched last month in three flavours: salted caramel, triple chocolate and a sugar free chocolate chip option.
