Tomorrow, on the 14th November, it has been announced that the award-winning food brand Merchant Gourmet will be hosting a cooking masterclass. The event will be taking place at their new restaurant and discovery space which is called Grain & Graze.
The restaurant in Islington will be hosting this cookery masterclass with the intention of trying to change the perception of grains and pulses. It is thought that this food group is seen as elitist, which is far from true. The work by the team at Grain & Graze at this workshop will be to demonstrate for grains and pulses can be used in everyday cooking. The cooking masterclass should hopefully educate and inspire more people to cook with this rarely considered food group.
The masterclass will be hosted by Merchant Gourmet Cook and former Le Manoir Cookery School Head Alex Mackay, who will be working to share a wide range of tips and trick that make cooking with grains and pulses easy pea-sy. Alex Mackay will share tips and tricks as well as a range of 30 minute dishes that have been created with healthy produce.
Merchant Gourmet has been working for the past 20 years to explore the world and look for the finest and most interesting ingredients that can be used to get their guests excited about food too. The menu at the restaurant has been tailored in order showcase the variety and potential available from pulses, grains and chestnuts.
