The McGoff Group has recently acquired the Urmston Market site which is located on Railway Road in Urmston. The acquisition has taken place as a part of a deal that will see the site developed into a new and thriving indoor food hall for the town. The location, when completed will be called Market 41.
The development of the new food hall has already been given outline planning consent and it is thought that work on the new market hall will begin in the New Year. The intention of the McGoff Group is to have the new Market 41 open and trading by late 2018.
The Group have made the acquisition in order to capitalise on the increasing popularity of local markets. The proposed indoor market hall concept that has been put forward will include a variety of 10-12 food and drink operators that will be positioned around an informal central seating that will have the capacity of between 160-180 covers. The seating area will be serviced and staffed by Urmston Beverage & Leisure Company Limited, which is a new division of the McGoff Group.
All of the traders at the new market hall will be carefully selected in order to make sure that the customers of Market 41 will benefit from the very best quality and choice possible all available at competitive price points. The intention of the new indoor market is to provide something different than what is available at other retail locations around Urmston. There will be a strong focus by the Group on independent and small manufacturers from throughout the region that work with locally sourced and artisanal quality food and drink to offer the visitors to market 41 something different.
The McGoff Group will be working closely with The Urmston Partnership, a not-for-profit organisation that has been made up from local residents, community groups and organisations, with the intention of promoting Urmston, Flixton and Davyhulme as great places to live, work and play.
