This month, Inception Group’s Mr Foggs’ brand will be opening their fourth venue – Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals – which will take guests on a sensory journey to an enchanted land of plants, herbs and spices that Phileas Fogg has brought back from his Around the World in 80 Day Voyage.
Located on the corner of Newman Street and Goodge Street, Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals will showcase a magnificent display of the explorer’s botanical acquisitions and eccentric souvenirs of his global adventures. The space will be flooded with natural light with large sash windows and ceilings high enough for the tallest trees, creating a sense of bright airiness throughout.
Spread across two floors, the downstairs area will feature an intimate seating area shrouded in plants, plenty of hanging ivy and a beautifully crafted handmade oak wooden bar surrounded by floriferous foliage. Two different cocktail menus have been created by the team, to match the two floors. The downstairs cocktail menu will showcase Mr Fogg’s most unusual botanical finds with Amazonian plants, luscious leaves and tongue-tingling spices just some of the flavours guests will be able to explore and experiment with.
For a more intimate cocktail experience, guests can head upstairs and try The Secret Language of Flowers Menu.Inspired by the Victorian tradition of expressing secret emotions through the giving of certain flowers, each drink will represent a different flower and feeling, from love to forgiveness. The Glass House, complete with an endless array of experimental Kilner jar infusions to choose from, will be available to hire for everything from floral cocktail master classes to guided tasting parties.
In addition to the cocktail adventures, guests will be treated to miniature marvels of Confit chicken & pine nut croquettes with roasted chicken gravy & chives, Sweet potato fries loaded with crispy lamb, orange mayo, feta, confit onion & spiced sesame, Sweet corn & chickpea fritters with halloumi and basil yogurt, as well as Smoked trout served with a cucumber salad, juniper berry sour cream & spiced soda bread.
Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals will feature grand floor to ceiling French doors, opening out onto the outdoor seating area complete with dainty Victorian furniture, the perfect spot for an al fresco drinking adventure underneath the stars. The entrance will also feature an eye-catching evergreen exterior of beautiful blooms and leaves, changing in harmony with the seasons.
