The Langley, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Buckinghamshire is delighted to announce that Marco Ardemagni has joined the team as Head Chef. Marco’s appointment will see him responsible for driving forward the gastronomic vision of the new luxury hotel upon its opening in early summer 2019.
Hidden amidst 150 acres of idyllic Buckinghamshire countryside, The Langley is a 41-room boutique hotel and spa, comprising a historic mansion house and Grade II-listed former 18th century brew house. Following a meticulous restoration spanning five years, designed in partnership with award-winning design company Dennis Irvine Studio, the former estate of the third Duke of Marlborough will create an outstanding retreat for local and international guests alike, complete with a collection of epicurean experiences just a 40-minute drive from central London.
The Langley’s restaurant, Cedar, occupies an elevated position, with a wraparound alfresco terrace offering panoramic views of Langley Park and the hotel’s serpentine lake. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu will focus on fresh and seasonal European cuisine, within a verdant and light-filled space. The Langley will also be home to the Churchill Bar, offering light bites for all-day dining, the Drawing Room, for sumptuous afternoon teas, and the Spa Lounge, for nutritious spa dining.
Head Chef Marco Ardemagni has amassed over 15 years’ experience within the hospitality industry, with influential roles at leading gastronomic destinations including Sushi Samba in London, and La Posta Vecchia and Il Pellicano in Italy, managing vast teams of up to 50 chefs and catering for upwards of 600 covers per day.
In his role at The Langley, Marco will work alongside the pre-opening team to develop the gastronomic concepts for Cedar, the Churchill Bar, the Drawing Room, Spa Lounge and the in-room dining options. Managing a team of talented chefs, Marco will oversee menu development and training for all gastronomic outlets, in addition to sourcing of local and seasonal ingredients and the creation of The Langley’s kitchen garden.
Joining Marco on the F&B team at The Langley will be Head Pastry Chef Francesco Martella, formerly of Sushi Samba, La Posta Vecchia, L’Atelier de Joel Robouchon, Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester and Il Pellicano. Francesco will oversee the hotel’s many sweet treats, including delicate and delicious petit fours at afternoon tea and a dessert trolley of tempting confections to be served at Cedar.
The Langley and Cedar will open in early summer 2019.
