The stars have united once more as Creator Universe, with over 40 million followers, aim for their second number one hit with “Break the Night,” this time in support of Samaritans during Loneliness Awareness Week.
Creator Universe, the UK’s first “music for good” supergroup of social media stars, has come together again and is aiming for a second chart-topping success.
Following their Christmas number one on the Big Top 40 in December 2023, their latest “pop anthem” project, “Break The Night,” will officially launch on 14 June with the release of the single and music video. This will be followed by a series of events aimed at bringing online communities together in person.
The project is supporting Samaritans, who offer a free, 24-hour helpline for anyone who needs someone to talk to.
The timing of the release is significant, aligning with Loneliness Awareness Week. Over 4 million people in the UK report feeling lonely always or often, while half of the population feels lonely at least sometimes.
The project’s aim is to spread joy, foster community, and remind people that they are never alone, while raising funds and awareness for Samaritans’ free, non-judgemental telephone helpline. This service is enabled by 23,000 trained volunteers who answer a call every 10 seconds.
Ant Llewellyn-Harris, founder and Chief Creative Officer at creator label We Create Popular, says, “Being a content creator can be a surprisingly lonely career. Break The Night is a powerful pop anthem that creates connection through fun, music and dance. We’re bringing thousands of fans together as part of the project and have already experienced new friendships and connections being made.
“Shining a light on the incredible service Samaritans provide is a privilege. Loneliness knows no age or borders. Everyone goes through difficult times, but together, we light up the dark.”
Rachel Henderson, Community Fundraising Lead at Samaritans, said: “Loneliness can affect anyone, at any time so it’s great that Creator Universe are shining a spotlight on this important issue and the power of human connection to help. Funds raised from this single will help ensure Samaritans volunteers can continue to be there 24/7 for anyone struggling to cope, so best of luck to Creator Universe and fingers crossed for another number one!”
