In our article published on 23 January 2025, we made a series of allegations about South African businessman, Paul Diamond. The article alleged that Mr Diamond was a corrupt businessman, involved in a wide range of financial wrongdoing, including the use of shell companies to shift assets; cross-border laundering schemes; and illicit gold trading.
We accept that the article should not have been published. We mistakenly accepted a third-party article for publication when we should not have done and fully recognise that there is no evidence to support any of the serious claims made against Mr Diamond.
We apologise unreservedly to Mr Diamond for the harm and upset our article has caused him.
