Goodwood Motor Circuit’s Race Simulator Experience invites motorsport enthusiasts to take on the historic track in a thrilling virtual race, offering a taste of the circuit’s legendary racing legacy. Due to overwhelming demand, this immersive experience has now been extended to Friday evenings, in addition to weekends, and is available for exclusive private bookings.
Participants can follow in the footsteps of racing icons like Sir Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Graham Hill, Sir Jackie Stewart, and Jenson Button, all of whom have left their mark at Goodwood. As they navigate the circuit’s demanding twists and turns, drivers will come to know every corner, straight, and chicane, gaining an authentic feel for one of the world’s most revered tracks.
Seated in the simulator, up to four drivers can go head-to-head in a high-adrenaline competition, with the chance to set their best lap times in the Car of the Month and secure a spot on the Motor Circuit’s leaderboard. Each month, the fastest lap earns the winner an exclusive Performance Track Experience on the real circuit. Those who manage to clock the best time of the year, return for our e-shootout, where an unforgettable prize awaits the fastest overall winner—a pair of tickets to the Festival of Speed, plus a passenger ride up the renowned Hill Climb.
In the Simulator Suite, located on Brooklands Lawn, is home to four state-of-the-art Exsim VR5 Motion Simulators. Equipped with an advanced D-Box actuator system offering six inches of motion, and a Progressive Yaw system that simulates rear-wheel traction loss, these simulators deliver an unparalleled racing experience. Featuring Samsung Ultrawide gaming monitors and precision-engineered Heusinkveld pedals, the VR5s provide unmatched control and realism behind the wheel.
For private bookings, drivers can select from a range of iconic cars, from the Ferrari 250 GT Short Wheel Base, driven by Stirling Moss in the 1961 TT, to the cutting-edge Porsche 919 Hybrid. This makes the simulator experience a popular choice for corporate events, team outings, or Christmas parties.
Sam Medcraft, General Manager of Goodwood Motor Circuit, remarks, “Our simulator suite has been a huge hit with guests of all ages. Extending the opening hours is a natural step when demand is high, and we’ve had a number of requests for private hire as well, so we are really pleased we can now offer this.”
Like much of Goodwood, the Simulator Suite is powered by solar energy generated from panels on the estate’s aircraft hangars. The Race Simulator joins a variety of other simulators at Goodwood, including the Cessna 172 at the Flying School and the Spitfire Simulator at Spitfires.com, allowing visitors to switch from racing on the track to soaring through the skies.
The Race Simulator Experience can be booked on Goodwood.com. A Goodwood instructor will be on hand for expert advice on making the most of your time on the sim. The experience costs £50 per person for one hour, and there is also the opportunity to book the suite exclusively.
