During the winter, Marbella is an amazing place to visit. Check out our article and learn how to properly enjoy Marbella during the colder season. That way, you’ll have the best vacation ever.
Enjoy the snowy weather conditions
There is a way to combine skiing with a winter holiday in Marbella. It only takes two hours to drive from the Sierra Nevada mountain range to the beach in Marbella. Then, you can wake up by the beach and drive up to the slopes for an amazing day trip. This combination feels very odd, but it’s easy to do— and we highly recommend it!
Although the resort looks good right now, snow conditions can change quickly. Currently, the resort is in good shape despite the fact that it recently experienced a drizzle of rain. Up in the mountains, any precipitation falls as snow, while it down in Marbella typically falls as rain. There are currently great webcam views available to check out the current snow conditions. Because there’s nearly all the runs open and more snow forecast, it’s a great time to come and visit!
People can still enjoy last-minute Esquiades’ Sierra Nevada skiing holidays or golf vacation thanks to snow remaining until the end of the season. This has been the case for several years now and often occurs in April.
How to combine a sun and ski vacation into one cohesive package
Book a car and vacation rental in Marbella before the end of April. Also book flights before you plan your visit to just view the mountains. If you’re staying for a day, don’t book your flights until you know you’re coming.
You need to choose a day based on the weather report and snow report. Check which days there are no bank holidays in your area before choosing a date. Selecting a date during the week will reduce the likelihood of bad weather; choosing a weekend will increase the likelihood of large lines. The rest of your stay is blissfully quiet and you can ski with ease.
The two-hour drive to the resort is straight-forward and easy. However, visiting guests need to be aware that the up the mountain road is a twisting, mountainous route. If the thought of driving two hours excites you, then consider making the drive. Alternatively, we can arrange a transfer for you so that you can rest while traveling.
Discover ways to enjoy your day in the mountains with these tips
- To maximize your time on the slopes, schedule an early departure by setting your alarm for at least five hours before your planned departure time. By choosing a day that best suits your schedule, you can travel by 8am at the latest.
- Leaving Marbella before 7AM gives you enough time to ski or board until 10AM; then, you can ski again until 5PM. This will give you an amazing day full of skiing and boarding! After that day, you can return to Marbella by 5PM and head home for dinner.
- You can purchase your pass online, via the machines at a village convenience store if there’s a line outside the main office, or in person.
- Skiers should check around to find the best ski rental prices and queues. Many ski rental stores offer the same prices near the cable car terminal or further away. We recommend checking out stores further away from the terminal if possible.
- There are several self-service cafés located on the slopes. These establishments are suitable for those who want to quickly eat while they continue skiing. Alternatively, you can visit one of the restaurants in the village. Alternatively, you can dine at Sun Deck, which has a ski-in and ski-out location. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great.
- Before heading home, take time to enjoy a fancy hot chocolate or a hot vino caliente to warm yourself up before getting into your car.
