There has been an announcement that there will be new flying displays at the Duxford Air Festival at IWM Duxford. These new and exciting displays will see contemporary jets as well as powerful military helicopters and parachutes displays at the air show. The event will take place May Bank Holiday weekend which is Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May. There an early bird deal on the tickets, is visitors order by Sunday 14th May, they can save on the price of the tickets. Children under 16 can attend the air festival for free.
The event will also have entertainment across the museum. This will include activities with the Parachute Regiment Recruiting Team as well as the Royal Gurkha Rifles and living history groups that will represent the First World War aviators band the Second World War United States Army Air Force pilots and their ground crew.
The visitors to the Duxford Air Festival will also be able to experience some award winning exhibitions that are on display at IWM Duxford. These exhibitions form the entrance to the whole museum and includes AirSpace and the American Air Museum that has been recently redeveloped. There is also a Battle of Britain exhibition that will be open. All exhibitions are included in the price of the tickets to the air show. This offers a variety of different activities for all fans of aviation.
The most recent announcement of participants in the Duxford Air Festivals include the BAE Systems Eurofighter Typhoon which is the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft. There will also be a Agusta Westland Apache the tank destroying attack helicopter, and the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team who will perform on the Saturday of the weekend. There will also be a visit form a de Havilland DH88 Comet, two Percival Mew Gulls and de Havilland DH90 Dragonfly and a de Havilland Dragon Rapide. The B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B and the Consolidated PBY Catalina G-PBYA will be flying in the Air Festival.
