Serhiy Tokarev, co-founder and partner of Roosh Ventures, recently announced the Ukrainian investment fund’s involvement in Toothio, a U.S.-based startup addressing the shortage of dental professionals. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Tokarev highlighted the startup’s innovative approach to tackling staffing challenges in the dental industry, an issue faced by 95% of dental practices in the U.S.
Toothio provides dental clinics with access to a robust network of over 30,000 qualified dental professionals. Leveraging proprietary software, the platform connects clinics to available professionals nearby, boasting an impressive 97% success rate in filling vacancies. This efficiency not only supports clinics in maintaining patient care standards but also offers flexibility to dental professionals. “As a result, dental clinics can simplify and optimize their operations, professionals gain greater flexibility, and patients benefit from faster appointments,” Serhiy Tokarev explains.
The latest funding round for Toothio raised an additional $5 million, with Roosh Ventures participating alongside prominent investors such as nvp capital, Craft Ventures, and others. According to Serhiy Tokarev, this support aligns with Roosh Ventures’ mission to back high-growth, scalable startups. “That’s why we at Roosh Ventures are thrilled to support Toothio in its development and scaling. Since its founding in 2021, the startup has grown by 300% annually, and we believe there is more to come!”
Toothio has experienced rapid expansion, adding over 15,000 new dental professionals to its platform in 2024 alone. This growth has enabled the company to expand its services to eight additional U.S. markets, including major cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Dental clinics and professionals can easily join the platform through the website or mobile app, simplifying the process of finding staffing solutions.
Founded in 2021, Toothio focuses on providing on-demand access to hygienists and dental assistants, addressing one of the most pressing challenges in the dental industry. The platform has quickly become a preferred solution for dental employment, offering practices the ability to scale operations effectively while empowering professionals with flexible job opportunities.
Serhiy Tokarev emphasizes that investments like this reflect Roosh Ventures’ commitment to supporting groundbreaking technologies. Over three years, Roosh Ventures has backed more than 40 startups, targeting industries like enterprise SaaS, gaming, fintech, and AI. Notable investments include Deel, TheGuarantors, and Oura. With offices in Kyiv, Paris, and London, the fund primarily focuses on startups in the EU and U.S. markets.
Roosh Ventures’ investment in Toothio underscores its dedication to fostering innovation that addresses real-world challenges. By supporting a platform that bridges the gap between dental clinics and professionals, according to Serhiy Tokarev, Roosh Ventures is contributing to the advancement of the healthcare industry while championing scalable solutions for global markets.
