VitrA Tiles has successfully launched its Aksaray solar power plant, marking a crucial step in its sustainability journey.
As a major brand under the Eczacıbaşı Group, VitrA Tiles continues to strengthen its green energy efforts. The commissioning of the Aksaray Solar Power Plant (SPP) follows the 3.5 MW rooftop solar power facility in Bozüyük, which became operational in 2023. With a 30 MWe/36 MWp capacity, this latest development will allow the company to generate over half of its electricity from renewable energy sources in Türkiye this year.
Driving Sustainability Through Solar Power
The newly operational Aksaray plant will provide enough electricity to supply approximately 19,700 households annually. With 65,520 PV modules, each producing 550 Wp, the plant is projected to cut carbon emissions by 37,190 tonnes per year.
VitrA Tiles CEO Mert Karasu highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating: “We aim to produce half of our electricity consumption from our own renewable energy facilities by 2025 and all of it by 2030 and thanks to this investment, we are one step closer to our global goals by further reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to meeting all our electricity needs from renewable sources in the future.”
Installation of the Aksaray SPP commenced in April 2024, with power generation beginning in February 2025 after the successful implementation of PV modules, inverters, transformers, cabling, and transmission lines. This investment is a key driver of sector-wide sustainability and strengthens VitrA Tiles’ role in renewable energy leadership.
