You’re probably already familiar with traditional casino games such as blackjack and roulette, or slots like Big Bass Bonanza, but how much do you know about Aviator or Sic Bo? If you answered “not a lot” then we’re not surprised, not too many people do. However, if you are willing to look beyond the traditional, there are other equally interesting casino games that are worth a try. We’ve selected five of the most popular casino games and a simple guide on how to play them.
1. Keno
Keno may sound like an ancient Japanese fighting style, but it’s actually a lottery game popular in the USA. The game’s rules are pretty straightforward. You start the game with a card (as in bingo) that displays the numbers 1 to 80. Using the keno card, mark or circle the numbers you think will appear during the draw.
You win if any number you circle is drawn out of the machine. How much you eventually cash out depends on the amount of drawn numbers you predict. Most keno games will allow you to mark a maximum of 10 numbers, but there are a few that’ll allow up to 15 or 20.
2. Sic Bo
Sic Bo is a casino game that originated in China. It’s a fan favourite due to its rules and easy gameplay. If you’ve come across Hi-Lo games before, you’ve already encountered a type of Sic Bo!
In Sic Bo, the game begins with the dealer rolling three dice. Prior to the deal, you predict what the total number of the dice will be. If the rolled dice yield the exact number you predicted, you win! But let’s face it, predicting the exact number a 3-dice roll will turn can be difficult. That’s why most casinos offer different betting types. You can bet that the total number will fall within a lower range or higher range. Other betting types like single, double, and triple bets are also available.
3. Aviator
This casino game is sure to get your adrenaline pumping. Aviator belongs to a casino game category known as crash games. These types of games allow players to accumulate larger wins the longer they remain active while retaining the right to withdraw their money whenever they choose. You’ll find them in an online casino that offers provable fair games.
When you join an aviator game, you bet on how long you think a virtual aeroplane will keep flying before it crashes. The longer the aeroplane stays airborne, the higher the multiplier and the more the potential winnings. The toughest part of playing Aviator is deciding when to walk away. The multiplier can go as high as 300x and might be as low as 1.02x. It’s purely a game of chance.
Try to avoid being too greedy, and use the cash out button to lock in your winnings before the plane crashes. On the other hand, you can let it ride and see how far the plane goes, just for the thrill.
4. Mahjong
Originating from the Asian continent, Mahjong has been around for centuries. To play the game, you need 136 tiles comprising 36 characters, 36 bamboos, and 36 circles. Each set is divided into four subsets of numbers 1 to 9. You’ll also find 16 wind tiles, 12 dragon tiles, and a pair of dice. Mahjong may require a bit more skill than other casino games, but it’s well worth it.
The goal of the game is to get a Mahjong which means placing all 14 of your tiles into four sets and one pair. When you have a set with three identical tiles, it’s called a pung Four identical pairs is a kong. But if it’s a run of three consecutive numbers within the same suit, it’s called a chow. The first player to form a complete hand of four sets, whether a combination of pungs, chows, or kongs, and one pair declares Mahjong! The person to first declare wins the round.
5. Let It Ride
Let It Ride is a type of poker game that’s fast gaining popularity in casinos. The game begins when you place three equal bets on designated areas on the table, usually marked as 1, 2, and $. The dealer then deals you three cards face down. After checking the first card, you can decide either to withdraw your first bet, which is in the ‘1’ area, or let it ride. The same goes for the second card.
Overall, you get two opportunities to withdraw exactly one-third of your initial wager. In the final round, the dealer will compare all the player’s hands and determine who has the best hand. The better the outcome, the higher the payout.
