Celebrate this year’s World Gin Day on the 9th of June with El Pirata in Mayfair and its new collection of Spanish Gin & Tonics. Enjoy a fresh G&T on their terrace tables in the sunshine and get that summer feeling!
As Spain gained the title of the largest Gin drinking country in Europe, El Pirata introduced four new Spanish Gins such as: Larios 12 (£3.70), the best selling Gin in Spain made using 12 botanicals, Nordes (£5.50) a Galician gin inspired by the northerly Atlantic wind made using pomace from Albarino grapes, Puerto de Indias (£4.50), a premium Gin made in Sevilla at one of the oldest distilleries in Andalucia. The latest comes in two versions: strawberry with wild juniper berries and strawberries the Pure Black Edition with floral notes. Alongside the new Spanish gins, the menu also features best-selling gins from around the world including Hendricks (£5.50), Bombay Sapphire (£3.55), Tanqueray (£4.65) and Gordons (£2.75).
El Pirata offers diners authentic Spanish tapas, made using quality ingredients. For nearly a quarter of a century El Pirata has been serving authentic tapas, with more than 50 dishes on the menu, and over 120 Spanish wines on the list. Jose Rodrigues and his team provide guests with the perfect Spanish tapas bar experience in the heart of Mayfair, but not at typical Mayfair prices.
The restaurant is set over two floors, the ground floor restaurant has 35 covers and 12 seats at the bar, a spiral staircase leads guests to the lower ground floor for more intimate dining for 65. The restaurant’s design is inspired by many of the Spanish team’s memories of typical tapas bars from their home towns. Spanish prints and black and white photographs line the walls and wooden floors, black woodwork and wrought iron interiors are reminiscent of Madrid and Barcelona.
