Piccadilly’s iconic hotel, The Dilly, has given its London afternoon tea a Christmas revamp with the launch of its limited-edition festive afternoon tea menu, available from 18th November in the hotel’s magnificent Terrace at The Dilly.
For £49, visitors can dive into a selection of delectable, homemade sandwiches which feature some festive favourites, such as turkey and cranberry served on malt bread, candied ginger cream and poached salmon sandwiched between slices of white bread, a delicious egg, chipotle mayo and red Leicester sandwich, plus carrot, cucumber and smooth coconut cream cheese served on country malt bread.
The menu will feature the original line up of London landmark inspired sweet treats with a seasonal twist. Diners can indulge in a banana and Baileys cremeux in the shape of Tower Bridge, a hazelnut and salted caramel Big Ben, a distinctive Speculoos spice and date cake resembling the stunning St Paul’s cathedral, plus a red bus shaped mandarin and cardamom cheesecake. There will also be some freshly baked plain and raisin scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam included.
Guests can enjoy a steaming cup of tea by The Tea Makers of London, which includes English breakfast, chamomile and peppermint tea. Those looking to raise a glass to the Christmas celebrations can request a glass of Pommery champagne to have with their afternoon tea. The menu also offers vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.
There will also be a festive children’s menu available for £39, which will include the same Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and red bus sweet treats and scones, as well as a choice of either the cranberry and turkey malt bread sandwich or an apple & celery slaw and brie spread sandwich, alongside the egg, chipotle mayo and red Leicester, and carrot, cucumber and coconut cream cheese sandwiches.
