The Alchemist, a premium bar and restaurant, has secured a £16 million finance package from Santander so that it could continue its growth plans across the UK. The business will invest the money into the innovation of the brand, rejuvenating existing sites, and the acquisition of new locations.
The Alchemist currently has 12 venues across the UK and employs over 700 team members. It has recently opened a purpose built venue at MediaCityUK, a regional site in Oxford, and it confirmed openings in Nottingham, Bristol, and Cardiff for this year.
“The phenomenal growth of the business in a short space of time has been made possible by the dedication, passion and talent of The Alchemist people, and I have no doubt that they will deliver on our vision to grow the brand further across the UK and beyond. We are grateful for the continued support of both Palatine and Santander in providing investment in our growth plans and in our people,” said Victoria Stewart, the Finance Director at The Alchemist.
The business is delighted to have received further funding from Santander and is confident that it will continue to provide guests with a unique, immersive, and unrivalled offering.
“The Alchemist has shown itself to be a great concept that benefits from a strong management team and experienced, supportive investors. Following on from our previous Growth Capital support, Santander is delighted to continue working with the company in its next phase of growth,” said Chris Thomas, Director, Structured Finance, Financial Sponsors at Santander.
The team are developing a high quality business together and the Alchemist continues to be a leading performer in its sector due to Santander’s financial support that allows the team to develop the brand and grow as a business.
