The Aster, a Restaurant, Café & Deli located in London has announced that their Executive Chef will be welcoming Pierre Koffmann to the restaurant. Executive Chef Helena Puolakka will be welcoming Koffmann to the French and Nordic inspired restaurant on the 19th of June. Helena has been working in London since 2001 and in a previous role was the Head Chef at La Tante Claire. Helena has also worked alongside Pierre before this new event at Aster, and it is said that she, like a great deal of other chefs, think of Pierre as one of her best mentors.
Pierre Koffmann is thought of as the godfather of this industry and it will be a special event to welcome him to the London restaurant. Helena Puolakka will be welcoming Pierre Koffmann as part of a new series that the restaurant is launching alongside the chief critic for Bloomberg, Richard Vines. The Chef Series Event will see Chefs taking part in a live Q & A with the Bloomberg critic before the chefs will head into the kitchen in order to collaborate with the Executive Chef Helena Puolakka in order to deliver a unique one off menu for the guests at the event. As part of the evening, Pierre and Helena have already created a five course tasting menu to be served to guests that reflects both chefs’ individual styles while also keeping within the French Nordic heritage of the restaurant. The sommelier at the Aster, Marco Marcuzzo will also be selecting wine pairings for each of the menu dishes which will include wines from the best vineyards around the world.
This series of events is being carried out for charity, with the proceeds of the £5 tickets will go towards Hospitality Action which is a charity that focuses on helping people of all ages, working or retired as part of the hospitality industry.
