The entrants that are shortlisted will be assessed by an independent panel of judges that will take in to consideration criteria such as taste, appearance, quality, packaging the ability to demonstrate the best use of the protein for their target market. The Poultry of the Year category will allow retailers the opportunity to show off their entire range from everyday fresh cuts that are on sale all year round. The winners will be able to benefit from a dedicated logo for their advertising purposes as well as POS campaigns.
The British Turkey Awards was a great opportunity to increase the profile of turkey cut in order to present it as a meat to be included in the weekly shop. Because of the success of these awards, they are being expanded to allow all poultry types the opportunity to be showcased. If retailers support the new Awards scheme it has the capability to be the biggest and best even in the calendar for the poultry sector of the meat industry.
