It has been announced that Gaucho will be opening in the Colmore District of Birmingham on the 8th May. It is being sold as Birmingham’s most anticipated restaurant, and will be opening this year. This will be the first opening of Gaucho for seven years and will be located in the heart of the business district in Birmingham. The restaurant will hold 120 covers and marks a development for Gaucho, as it is the first new restaurant to be opened in the UK for 7 years.
The city of Birmingham has growth potential and was selected as the location for the new restaurant after a variety of different locations were considered. The restaurant will stand at 55 Colmore Row with a restaurant and bar all arranged on one level, the ground floor of a period building. It is said that this is the best location on the city, with The Grand, Birmingham’s first Five Star hotel being renovated directly opposite.
Gaucho will be bringing their best known components to the Birmingham restaurant, including the Electro Brunch which has been very popular. Gaucho will also have beef and wine masterclasses which will bring new dining opportunities for Birmingham. There will also be facilities for private dining and events as well as leisure and business meals. Gaucho will be bringing more than 200 Argentinian wines that have been selected especially by Phil Crozier, the Director of wines at Gaucho. These wines are all exclusive to the restaurant name. The menu will focus on Argentinian cuisine with properly sourced Argentinian steaks as well as seafood and fish. Other meals include prime home-made sausages as well as a range of lamb and poultry.
The restaurant interiors were thought of by Patsy Godik, the head of Conceptualise interior design and branding. The restaurant will echo the design at the flagship Gaucho restaurant in Swallow Street Piccadilly. The design is inspired by Ombu, giant trees which are striking natural features in Argentina.
