Hampton Court Palace is one of the six venues that is cared for by Historic Royal Palaces, a charity that works to preserve a number of iconic and historical locations while also offering the opportunity for them to be seen and enjoyed by the public. The charity will be holding the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace from 2017 to 2021.
The palace has hosted the Concours in 2014 and has become a popular location. This has led to the signing of a five-year agreement to hold the event. Next year, the Concours of Elegance will be held on between the 31st August and 2nd of September, with the event bringing together more exotic cars and luxury partners than before with the sensational backdrop of Hampton Court Palace.
The concours of Elegance is an event that take place only in the UK and is known for being the only automotive event to be held at a royal venue every year. The Concours has been held in the past at Windsor Castle, St James’ Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. In 2014, the event headed to Hampton Court Palace and it returned again this year. The venue has very quickly become a favourite with visitors and over the course of the event weekend, the parade of the main Concours and ‘Special Feature’ cars were driven through the palace grounds and up to the live stage in order to offer visitors a moving spectacle.
The Palace is a perfect location for the event to be held, and it is great news for Historic Royal Palaces that the event will continue to be held there for the next five years. The events held at Hampton Court Palace in 2014 and 2017 were both great successes and it is hoped that Historic Royal Palaces and Concours of Elegance will work together over the next five years in order to grow the event.
