The masters of mixology have landed, as long-awaited The Alchemist has finally arrived at The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham.
The theatrical bar come restaurant opened their doors last Friday, after having to put the project on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With sites in London, Oxford, Birmingham and Nottingham to name just a few, The Alchemist serves up fanciful smoking cocktails and experimental food dishes, and is known for its stylish, steampunk-luxe décor.
Nikki Kontarines, Asset Manager at The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham said: ‘We’re delighted to welcome The Alchemist to our tenant portfolio, they’re a great fit for the leisure and lifestyle mix that we’re creating here at The Brewery Quarter, sitting along perfectly with our venues such as The Botanist and Cosy Club.
‘The Alchemist is yet another aspirational tenant we’ve been keen to secure, further cementing The Brewery Quarter as a high-quality regional leisure destination.’
Chris O’Mahony, Director of Savills who are agents for The Brewery Quarter commented: “This is yet another successful opening for the scheme. Following Cineworld’s multimillion-pound refurbishment and extension last year and with the award-winning casual restaurant brand Hubbox opening its doors in 2021, The Brewery Quarter continues to attract strong interest from quality operators.”
During a time of uncertainty, the new cocktail destination has also created dozens of jobs with 40 members of staff hired for the new Cheltenham venture.
Brand Director at The Alchemist, Jenny McPhee, said: “Following the last few months of uncertainty it’s fantastic to be able to finally open the doors in the Brewery Quarter this weekend. The venue is really quite beautiful and we are looking forward to serving our creative cocktails to the people of Cheltenham.”
