Warwick Conferences has recently developed and opened their newest venue. The Slate was first opened seven months ago and it has now been revealed that this new meeting venue has been given a Gold accreditation from Green Tourism. This accreditation has come surprisingly soon after the venue has been opened, however it is not the only venue to be given the accreditation. Warwick Conferences’ venues Arden Scarman and Radcliffe have also been given accreditation.
Warwick Conferences is an award winning collection of meeting venues that can be found on the campus of the University of Warwick . The organisation has been attempting to make a more eco-friendly environment, therefore the recent accreditation of the meeting and conference venues is great news for the organisation.
The Slate first opened in December 2016. The venue was designed and constructed with sustainability in mind hand has a number of different eco-friendly features that allow the building to have low energy consumption. The Gold standard of the accreditation that has been awarded to The Slate is indicative of an inspirational and outstanding commitment to sustainability. The building has made the most of the most cutting edge technology as well as an efficient and effective system for managing the control of resources.
The Arden, Scarman and Radcliffe have all been awarded with the Silver accreditation by Green Tourism which reflects a progressive and high level sustainability work. Warwick conferences are working to ensure that these buildings will be given the Gold accreditation this year.
Radcliffe has undergone a refurbishment valued at around £6.5 million and the space has experienced some significant modifications such as double glazed units and low flush toilets. The Radcliffe venue has also had a sleek and modern revamp, focussed in the lounge and bar area and have been managing their food wastage across their venues by coming up with innovative ways to use up their leftovers.
