In today’s fitness world, exercise alone is no longer enough. Former Olympic basketball player Nadezhda Grishaeva has pioneered a new approach with Anvil Fitness Club, merging art, style, and community to support body, mind, and spirit.
Globally, the fitness market serves over 200 million members through more than 200,000 clubs. The United States and Europe lead, with the highest number of facilities, but the Asia-Pacific region is now the fastest-growing market. Urbanisation, economic development, and rising health awareness in countries like China, Indonesia, and South Korea have accelerated fitness club growth.
The Middle East, particularly GCC nations, is also witnessing a fitness boom. In cities like Dubai and Riyadh, increasing incomes and government wellness initiatives are driving demand for fitness facilities that blend physical and digital experiences.
Anvil Fitness Club, launched by Grishaeva in May 2021, celebrated its third anniversary in 2024, now spanning 25,000 square feet and serving over 1,500 members. Inspired by fitness icon David Barton, Grishaeva designed Anvil to create a unique experience. “When you step into Anvil, it should feel like entering a different world. It’s not just a gym; it’s an entire mindset,” says Grishaeva.
Anvil combines industrial design with elegance, creating a space that fosters fitness as self-expression. The club also promotes holistic wellness, with a healthy food café encouraging members’ well-being both inside and outside the gym.
Looking to the future, Anvil is expanding globally, with a Kuala Lumpur franchise set to open in summer 2025, furthering Grishaeva’s mission to inspire transformation through fitness and community.
Anvil Fitness leads the way in a new era for the industry, where gyms are not just workout spaces but stylish, community-focused wellness hubs.
