Colleagues from specialist hospitality recruitment business CJUK were recognised at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s annual ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London on Wednesday 7th December.
CJUK Account Manager, Laura Garratt, picked up the first award of the night for ‘Best Newcomer’, coming out on top against eight finalists, all of whom had entered the recruitment industry within the last 18 months.
CJUK Talent Manager, Susannah Lawson, secured the award for ‘Best Candidate Experience’ fighting off tough competition from seven shortlisted Recruiters to take home the prize.
The pair who specialise in temporary Chef recruitment were both highly commended for the contribution they had made to the industry, with judges describing Laura as ‘being someone who clearly loves her job and goes above and beyond, providing added value wherever possible’.
Susannah was commended for ‘going the extra mile and her passion for providing an excellent service, taking personal interest in her candidates needs’.
The eighth annual Institute of Recruitment Professionals Awards was hosted by Sky News Anchor, Dermot Murnaghan and saw over 500 industry professionals from across the UK come together to celebrate excellence in recruitment.
Commenting on her win Susannah said; “To be recognised on a national scale for the work we do with our amazing candidates is phenomenal! The wins come just one month before CJUK Live 2017, the only event especially for interim Chefs, to recognise and reward their dedication to the hospitality industry. So I’m sure my candidates will enjoy celebrating this win with me on January 17th next year!”
Newcomer to the recruitment industry, Laura Garratt said: “Just being nominated for Best Newcomer was a huge privilege, but to come out as overall winner is unbelievable. I couldn’t have got this far without the help and support from my colleagues at CJUK.”
On the night, Kevin Green, Chief Executive at the REC said; “The quality of entries was as always, exceptional. For those of you who are walking away as winners, congratulations! You really are the best of the best and we applaud your success.”
