Akbar’s has announced that they will be launching a new mobile ordering service. Most restaurants have use aggregators, or third party platforms such as Just Eat and Hungry House in order to offer an online ordering service, however, the popular Asian restaurant chain has decided to break the mould and launch their own.
Bypassing other online aggregators means that the company will also remove any fee or commission that is taken, which means that the online ordering service will help to improve the profitability of the local business. The technology is also better for developing local customer relationships and will expand the business footprint.
Akbar’s first opened in 1995 and has since expanded to have branches opening in Bradford, Leeds Eastgate, York, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Glasgow, Rotherham and Newcastle. The company has developed a reputation for offering a high quality of food at all of their restaurants across the Midlands and the North of England as well as a good atmosphere and excellent customer service.
When developing plans for their own integrated ordering and payment system, Akbar’s approached White Rose Tills and Eat IT Drink IT Ltd, who both provided ICR Touch EPOS technology and business grade Wi-Fi and network across all of their branches. During this development, Eat IT Drink IT recommended that the restaurant chain use Preoday which is a white label ordering platform that has been able to integrate into the venue’s established network.
Preoday will also be able to offer insight into their strong returning customer base, which will help Akbar’s to improve their marketing techniques and allow the company to make more informed decision in regards to growth. Akbar’s has a loyal customer base and the business is certain that their customers will appreciate the new and easier way to order their favourite meals from their nearest restaurant.
