Business partners Paul Merrett and Greg Bellamy first took over The Victoria nine years ago. The award winning gastropub is located in Sheen, in the south-west of London. The Michelin starred TV chef Paul Merrett and business partner Greg Bellamy have been involved in owning and running the restaurant for the past nine years, and during this time it has become a popular venue. The duo and their Sheen gastropub have become well known for the creation of British classics that are served with a contemporary twist.
The Victoria has recently undergone extensive work to refurbish the location and it has been announced that Paul and Greg will be ready to relaunch The Victoria in September this year. Alongside the unveiling of the newly refurbished restaurant, The Victoria will also be releasing a new menu for visitors to enjoy.
The Victoria is a part of The Jolly Fine Pub Group, started by Greg Bellamy and Paul Merrett in 2016. This restaurant group also includes: The Fox and Grapes in Wimbledon and The Malt House which is in Fulham.
The Victoria’s facilities include a classic pub bar as well as an airy conservatory that is used for dining space. There are also several hotel rooms available as part of the establishment for those looking to spend a little longer in the area.
Over the years The Victoria has won a range of awards for their services. Amongst these are Gastropub of the Year London Area in 2012 and the OpenTable Diner’s Choice award in 2016. These accolades show that the gastropub has managed appeal to both critics and the public. The hotel rooms at The Victoria are also of a high quality, earning The Victoria a mention in the Good Hotel Guide 2017. The Victoria has also been featured in the Michelin Guide and has been awarded a four star status by the AA guide.
These accolades are amazing for the hospitality spot, but not surprising as Chef Paul Merrett has experience working at The Ritz, and under a range of talented chefs including Gary Rhodes. Paul Merrett has also released a range of bestselling cookbooks and has made a number of TV appearances over the years.
