The hotel will be offering a sumptuous afternoon tea experience which includes a delicious array of savoury and sweet treats, selection of the finest teas, infusions and coffees, plus a glass of sparkling wine, priced at £25 for two.
The Afternoon Tea at DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon includes a selection of finger sandwiches, such as honey roast ham with a hint of mustard; creamy coronation chicken; open faced oak smoked salmon; free range egg mayonnaise & cress; and cucumber cream cheese, as well as freshly baked fruit scones served with clotted cream & preserve, a selection of mini afternoon tea cakes, a selection of the finest tea & infusions and coffee. A glass of sparkling wine is also included in the price.
The Afternoon Tea British tradition goes back to the 19th century when it first became a social event widely enjoyed by the great and good alike. Queen Victoria herself was a huge fan and helped to popularise this mini meal that traditionally includes delicate finger sandwiches, sweet dainties, scones with jam and cream and, of course, a revivifying cup of tea.
“Afternoon tea is an occasion that can be celebrated by people of all ages. We’re offering traditional teas, freshly prepared by us and served in a relaxed setting and we look forward to welcoming guests throughout the week,” said general manager Adam Flint.
Afternoon tea at DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon would make the ideal gift, a surprise treat for someone special, or simply a great opportunity to get together with friends and have a tasty and enjoyable experience.
