The finalists for the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2017 have been announced. 64 businesses that are based all around Scotland will be celebrating as they have been announced as finalists. The Awards this year will be hosted by Simon Rimmer the well-known chef. Rimmer is also a restaurateur, author and television presenter.
The winners for the 22 different categories that make up the Food & Drink Excellence Awards will be announced at the event on Thursday the 18th May. The event will be an awards ceremony and dinner that will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Tickets for the event have also been released, although they are limited to a first come first served basis form the online site.
The Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards is an event designed to celebrate the quality of Scottish food and drink as well as showing off the innovations and enterprise schemes that have been established within the industry that year. The business that have been shortlisted include The Bay Fish & Chips for their Success through Partnership. Other businesses that have received recognition includes the Strathearn Distillery for their Young Talent. All aspects of the industry are celebrated in the Awards, from large companies like Aldi Own Label, to smaller enterprises such as Yester Farm Dairies Ltd who were recognised for Primary Producer of the year.
Over the past year, there have been a number of developments within the Scottish food & Drink market that will be deserving of recognition, and the Awards night will celebrate all those shortlisted as well as the selected winners. This year has received a record number of 272 applications for the 22 different categories in the Awards. This is great news, as it shows that the Awards are attracting attention for celebrating Scottish produce.
Tickets start at £95 + VAT for shortlisted members, £125 + VAT FOR Scotland Food & Drink members and £250 + VAT for non-members.
