On the 8th of June it was revealed that the first Food & Drink Business Improvement Development group in the world has launched a new order and delivery strategy. The group is from the Food & Drink County of Scotland, East Lothian and the new system has been announced during the Royal Highland Show which took place in Edinburgh. The group has launched an idea that will allow those that are interested the opportunity to buy for a range of East Lothian supplier. It is the first time that there has been a platform for customers to buy from a number of different East Lothian suppliers at the same time.
The new system has been launched and required the suppliers from the area to collaborate. Those who attend the Royal Highland Show will be able to try the local produce of East Lothian and they will also be able to hear more about how the supplier form that area are leading the way and creating the first Business Improvement District ever.
East Lothian is located just on the border of Edinburgh and the area is known for their popular and successful food and drink sector. East Lothian is known colloquially as the garden county and seems to succeed because of their rich farmlands and coastlines which allows for the production of a wide range of food and beverages. The county are proud of their reputation for producing the finest quality food in the country therefore creating a platform that will allow buyers to acquire good from a number of different suppliers is a great way to spread more of their produce even further.
A group of local suppliers joined together in order to come up with the business which has been created in order to have a shared interest and ambition of generating funds by working together.
