As Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express is about to be released in cinemas across the UK, Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts are launching a Murder on the Orient Express package which allows guests to go back in time in order to recreate one of the world’s most famous murder mysteries.
The ideal package for crime fiction lovers, guests are able to start their journey at the Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel which is located in Belgravia, once the start of the Orient Express line. The guests enjoying this package will be given a Turkish ‘evil eye’ charm in order to ward off evil, as well as a copy of the famous Agatha Christie novel from Belgravia Books. During their stay, guests will also be supplied with the ingredients to create their own Grasshopper cocktail which includes Crème de Menthe and is famous for being the famous detective Hercule Poirot’s drinks of choice.
Guests are also given the option as part of this package to continue on the adventure, following the rail tracks of the Orient Express by visiting Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah in Istanbul. Upon arrival guests will be greeted with an Orient Express themed cocktail. The iconic Pera Palace was originally built in order to meet the guests of the Orient Express and rumour has it that Agatha Christie wrote Murder on the Orient Express in room 411 of the hotel. This room has now been renamed the Agatha Christie room and with the Murder on the Orient Express package, Christie fans will have the option of staying in this room, which even features a replica of her typewriter and a collection of her novels.
The London and Istanbul package will be available at the Jumeirah hotels between the 30th October and the 30th December 2017. The reservations for these trips must be made 48 hours in advance.
