Model Samantha Gangewere, who initially made waves with her foot pictures, has now embarked on a culinary journey, challenging none other than Gordon Ramsay with her beef wellington recipe. Known to her two million Instagram followers (@thatboostedchick), Samantha has expanded her repertoire by opening The Orchid Steakhouse and daringly taking on one of Britain’s culinary giants.
In her latest video, Samantha throws down the gauntlet to Ramsay, proclaiming, “Watch out Gordon Ramsay, I’m coming for you”. She brings a twist to the classic beef wellington by choosing an 8oz A5 Japanese Wagyu filet mignon as her centerpiece.
Her process involves generously seasoning the steak with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and searing it briefly. She then infuses it with herbs like rosemary and thyme and coats it in dijon mustard. The steak is then nestled on a layer of prosciutto di Parma and mushroom duxelles, wrapped in pastry, sealed with egg yolk, sprinkled with sesame seeds and salt, and baked for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
To complement the dish, Samantha recommends a serving of mushroom au Poivre sauce. At the clip’s conclusion, she confidently challenges Ramsay, saying, “OK Gordon Ramsay, tell me, is mine better than yours?”, before savoring the dish herself, declaring it too good to share.
Samantha has previously drawn attention during the pandemic in Times Square, brandishing a sign that read: “Wash your damn hands” while donning a mask and an eye-catching orange swimsuit.
