The National Fish & Chip Awards have announced that they will be taking the nation’s favourite takeaway on a tour of the UK in order to serve free Fish & Chips. From Monday the 23rd October, the customised van will be used to visit five different cities in the UK in order to celebrate the awards’ 30th anniversary.
This tour will be taking place with the support of the UK’s best fish and Chip shop, Kingfisher Fish & Chips of Plymouth, Devon. The team from Plymouth will travel to each of the five different cities across the UK in order to serve up their award winning Fish & Chips. The team will be travelling around 1,000 miles in just five days in order to offer fish and chip lovers across the nation a portion of the classic British dish, just the way they like it.
The Fish & Chip van will be visiting Glasgow on the 23rd October, Newcastle on the 24th October, Manchester on the 25th October, Birmingham on the 26th October and finally London on the 27th October. The tour has been set up in order to celebrate the Fish & Chip shop, a national institution in the UK, as well as the 30-year anniversary of the National Fish & Chip Awards. The products will be served from the van between 12pm and 2pm each day and in each city.
Fish and Chips continues to be a national favourite across all generations, for some a weekly tradition, and for others a dish that can evoke memories of seaside holidays. This year, with the milestone of the awards is the perfect opportunity to honour the humble dish as well as allowing people across the country to try the award winning Fish & Chips created by Kingfisher Fish & Chips from Plymouth.
