Nottingham Forest, a Premier League club, has sparked a lively debate among football fans by introducing a unique culinary creation – the “Pizzadog.” Priced at £7, this novel snack made its debut ahead of the match against Burnley on September 18.
The Pizzadog combines elements of a margarita pizza and a classic hotdog. It features a long, slender piece of dough topped with tomato sauce and cheese, akin to a margarita pizza. However, the twist comes with the addition of a lengthy Frankfurter sausage.
The unconventional concoction, available for purchase outside Forest’s 30,000-capacity City Ground stadium, has generated a wide range of opinions among supporters.
Some fans have embraced the fusion of flavors and textures. Ryan Massey expressed, “That is a combo I did not know I needed.” Sidney, on the other hand, took a more humorous approach, exclaiming, “B*oody hell! It’s the end of civilization.”
However, not everyone has been won over by the Pizzadog. One disgruntled fan declared, “Not a pizza, not a hot dog. Get in the bin.” Criticism wasn’t limited to the taste alone; some fans also voiced concerns about the price. Leyton Orient supporter Daniel Flewers remarked, “Looks f*cking tasty. But the price has made my wallet have a fit.” Dan Gleebits added, “£7 for a 50p plastic sausage and a spoonful of cheese and tomato sauce on bread.”
Despite the mixed reactions, there were those who showed enthusiasm for the new offering. Dave Erimus stated, “I wouldn’t stop at one,” while Conner Burks quipped, “I’ll take two.” One Forest fan named Ryan even humorously declared, “I’ll pay double.”
Nottingham Forest’s “Pizzadog” has undeniably left a lasting impression on football fans, demonstrating that the intersection of culinary creativity and sports culture can spark passionate debates and gastronomic adventures.
