Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has claimed the top spot on All In London’s Ultimate Restaurant List, knocking The Ledbury off the top position it has held since 2012. The list, which is compiled using a mathematical algorithm, is based on the results of other awards and ratings received by London restaurants over the past 12 months in order to formulate a list of the top 100 in the city.
Scoring 9.125, the celebrity chef’s Royal Hospital Road restaurant received first place. Chef de cuisine, Matt Abe said: “We have an excellent team here working extremely hard at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, and we are thrilled to have been awarded the Ultimate Restaurant Award. We always have, and will continue to focus on our guests, making sure they have a memorable experience that will stay with them for a long time.”
Gordon Ramsay restaurant has held three Michelin-stars for over 12 years and serves ‘elegant modern French cuisine using the finest seasonal ingredients and employing both classic and modern techniques.’ Opened in 1998, the intimate restaurant seats 45 guests, who can enjoy stylish décor from interior designers Fabled Studio.
The Gordon Ramsay group has a collection of 14 restaurants in London, employing more than 700 members of staff. The company has a total of 30 restaurants across the world and 6 Michelin stars. The restaurant was, until recently, run by chef-patron Clare Smyth. Smyth left the company in October 2015, with the backing of Ramsay, to open her own restaurant.
The Ledbury dropped down to third place after holding the title for four years. Hoppers London, the newest restaurant from the Sethi’s JKS Restaurants group claimed second place.
In fourth place was Sushi Tetsu, followed by Hibiscus, Le Gavroche, Dinner by Heston Blumenhal, Sketch (The Lecture Room), Lyle’s and in tenth place, The Square.
