Think Brands, the independent spirits company, has just launched a world first in the UK with Pampelle. It is a versatile aperitif that captures the bittersweet flavours of organic ruby red grapefruit from Corsica and carefully selected botanicals and will work in a range of cocktails. Naturally low in sugar, this Mediterranean inspired drink will be distributed in the UK by Mangrove.
“Pampelle is a fantastic addition to Mangrove’s liqueur portfolio. The distinctive packaging is inviting, and the clarity of flavour is testament to the craftsmanship. It makes the perfect base for cocktails and we anticipate it becoming the go-to drink this summer,” said Nick Gillett, Managing Director at Mangrove.
The spirit’s deep red colour and bittersweet flavour come from the ruby red grapefruits of Corsica. Once harvested, the fruit is taken to a distillery on the banks of the River Charente in the town of Cognac in South West France. The bottle is then stamped with a seal of a Damselfly, which is a protected native species that represents the delicate environment of the region.
Pampelle can be served as an aperitif or used as a base in a wide range of cocktails, such as a Pampelle Spritz with prosecco and soda, a Ruby Rose with Provencal rose and soda, and a French Negroni with gin and sweet vermouth.
The Founder, Patrick Borg, said he was delighted for the global launch of Pampelle Apéritif Français and hopes that this spirit inspired by his Mediterranean heritage and “love for all things French” will become popular within the UK.
Mangrove was created by John Coe and Nick Gillett as an independent spirits agency that works towards achieving a portfolio of specialist spirits and liqueurs. It only chooses hand-picked products of the highest quality that show authenticity, innovation, and commercial viability.
