The exclusive Four Degree restaurant in Vauxhall will open this February the UK’s first Macallan Whisky Lounge, which will feature a contemporary modern design completed with frosted glass for ultimate privacy.
The whiskies served at The Macallan Lounge come from a wide range of reputable whisky distilleries such as Angus Dundee, Bruichladdich, Glencadam, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Highland Park, Kinahan, Old Putney, Suntory, and Tomintoul. It will also be the home of London’s largest official collection of Macallan 40 Year Old.
Chef Kai has created a culinary concept that mixed the European and Japanese cuisines. His influences come from France, Spain, Italy and some of the dishes include Braised Pork Belly with Soy Sauce, Sake and Pak Choi to A5 Wagyu Sirloin with Ponzu Sauce, Garlic Chips and Spring Onion. The Sushi Bar will offer fresh Sushi and Sashimi, such as Omakase Sashimi, Tuna Akami and Yellow Tail. All dishes are prepared using the freshest ingredients and a catch of the day will be available.
Four Degree also has a cocktail bar with a Tom Dixon light installation that is the centrepiece of the restaurant. Their cocktails are based on the concept of journeying from the past, present, and future. The signature cocktails feature Japanese inspired ingredients, such as rich plum infused sake with homemade white bitters. The expert mixologists have created created blends of Akashi whisky, momo fruit liquor and home-made chestnut honey to offer the perfect bitter-sweet combination.
“We’re excited to be working with Four Degree to create a bespoke Macallan Whisky Lounge where guests will be able to enjoy an exceptional range of Macallan whiskies, along with specially curated cocktails and tasting flights. Four Degree’s superb cuisine and artistic ambience will make it an ideal destination for those wanting to savour some of the very finest whiskies in the world,” said Chris Anderson, Head of Brands at Macallan.
