Royal Lancaster London has celebrated its 50th Anniversary with an £80 million redesign of the hotel and is now offering guests the chance to win an overnight stay for two people in a Classic guest room for just £8.50 – the cost of a room in 1967.
General Manager Sally Beck will be choosing her favourite entries and she has already decided on the first winner. Denis Day won with his 1980s video of the elegant Nine Kings banqueting suite on Facebook. He can now spend a night in the most stylish place to stay in September 1967, including English breakfast for two, for the price of only £8.50.
If you would like to enter the competition, all you need to do is share your memories of Royal Lancaster London over the past 50 years with old photographs, vintage invitations to events and gala dinners, magazine articles, or any memorabilia with the hashtag #RoyalLancasterTurns50 on Twitter or Facebook. Those that don’t have social media can post their entry directly to the hotel’s address or via email to [email protected].
The £80 million redesign included the refurbishment of all its 411 guestrooms and suites that now have a far reaching view across London and a modern design. Room categories start with the Classic Double Room, priced at £219 per night. All rooms have Handy phones, hidden international plug sockets, bathrobes, slippers, The White Company toiletries, waterfall showers and underfloor heating in the bathrooms.
“The hotel has had a rich and celebrated past, having opened as one of the most chic hotels in London in September 1967. 50 years later, Royal Lancaster London is once again one of the most stylish hotels in the capital. We are looking forward to the next 50 years,” commented General Manager Sally Beck.
