Apothecary East (www.apothecaryeast.co.uk) in Shoreditch is launching a Summer Omakase tasting menu, drawing influences from regional dishes found across Japan.
Priced at £55 per person for six courses and a welcome aperitif, the menu will be available after 5pm Tuesday to Saturday from 28th May until the end of July.
The new Omakase menu showcases contemporary Japanese dishes created by Apothecary East’s head chef Luca Bernardini in collaboration with guest chef Masashi Noguchi, who trained in Tokyo and Osaka before working in London with Zuma and as a private chef.
Chef Masashi’s passion for progressive Japanese cuisine began as a child with his family’s Kappo restaurant, run by his parents in Hokkaido.
The Summer Omakase menu will offer guests at Apothecary East a chef’s selection of innovative dishes and drinks, including some of the following:
- Matcha pisco sour
- Renkon lotus root crispsand tomato miso
- Sea bass umeboshi maki rolls
- Ginger shallot salmon tartare on fried gyoza skin
- Smoked daikon and pickled beetroot maki rolls
- Charred hispi cabbage on togarashi chilli whipped tofu
