Clermont Hotel Group has been recognised as one of the UK’s best places to work on the 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces in Retail, Hospitality & Leisure™ list launched by Great Place To Work® UK this week.
The largest hotel owner-operator in London also came 42nd in the overall Best Workplaces List ™ after its team, responding anonymously to a Trust Index © survey, gave the group glowing scores in many areas.
Team members were asked to comment on how their company supports work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security.
Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.
The survey revealed that 76% of Clermont Hotel Group’s 1,610 employees regard the company as a great place to work. This is in comparison to 54% of employees at a typical UK based company.
According to the results, 90% of employees stated Clermont Hotel Group was a physically safe place to work, while 88% said they felt welcomed when they joined.
The majority of team members rated Clermont Hotel Group for its fairness with 90% saying people are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation, while 88% said they were treated fairly regardless of their sex and 86% regardless of their race.
Over the last two years, Clermont Hotel Group has taken great strides to make it a great place to work to help attract and retain talent.
Safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all team members has been a primary focus with the introduction of initiatives such as ‘Wellbeing Week’, mindfulness workshops, menopause support, enhanced maternity and paternity and paid volunteering days, alongside access to an EAP. The group is also doubling the number of qualified Mental Health First Aiders in the business in 2024.
Other benefits for team members include the development of the reward platform The BAR and the introduction of Wagestream, an app for early wage access.
