A new survey from Mumsnet on behalf of Burger King® UK has delivered a juicy truth: after hours (or even days) of labour, some exhausted Mums aren’t just dreaming of sleep—they’re dreaming of burgers! That’s right, after bringing a tiny human into the world, there are mums ready to bring a Whopper® or Chicken Royale® sandwich into theirs, for a well-deserved post-birth refuel.
After speaking to over 2,000 mums, the survey revealed that 41% of mums admitted that they were fantasising of something tastier than what they had after their epic labour journey.
A burger and fries were amongst the most wanted post-birth indulgences, with over a third (39%) saying that they would have appreciated this iconic combo as their first meal after delivering their own baby.
More than one in five (21%) shared that their first meal did hit the spot and was so mouth-wateringly good, they momentarily forgot all about the exhaustion of labour and just basked in the glory of their post-birth banquet. Over a third (39%) said their first post-birth meal felt like the ultimate version of that meal.

The campaign has been unveiled today on 26th September, the day most babies are born in the UK* and is backed by the real experts—Mums themselves, with 55% of mums surveyed saying that felt ‘absolutely ravenous’ post-birth.
The ads feature mums who’ve found their perfect food fix with Burger King® UK, proving that nothing beats that warm, fuzzy feeling of total food satisfaction, that Burger King® UK proudly delivers. The campaign uses images of mums, who turned to the brand for their first meal after birth, alongside the exact time they were ‘Foodfilled’ by the arrival of their burger.

To celebrate and reward mums who deserve a post-birth refuel, for one day only on 26th September Burger King UK are launching ‘The Grill Line’, a free hotline for new mothers across the capital, so they can claim a delicious and satisfying Whopper® meal, delivered straight after birth. New parents will be able to claim a tasty post-birth meal at select hospitals across London by calling the number displayed on posters outside the hospital.
