Almost half of Brits (47%) take home comforts with them when travelling
The new travel-sized Garlic & Herb bottle launches as 46% of Brits long for home comforts to make holidays abroad more enjoyable
1 in 10 Brits admit to taking the iconic dip abroad
As Brits prepare to dust off their suitcases for a summer getaway, Domino’s, the nation’s best-loved pizza company has launched a limited-edition travel-sized Garlic & Herb dip. The 100ml, resealable travel bottle launches as research shows 46% of Brits rely on home comforts to make holidays abroad more enjoyable.
Filled to the brim with the iconic Garlic & Herb sauce, the new 100ml bottle will fit in travellers’ hand luggage, within liquid regulations. The compact bottle is ideal for a nation that travels light, with over half (59%) of us only taking hand luggage on flights. However, nearly a quarter (23%) admit they’d carry more home comforts when travelling if luggage restrictions weren’t in place.
Brits also admit the worst part about packing for a trip is struggling to fit everything into hand luggage (55%), or having to work around the 100ml liquid restrictions (28%), and not being able to take their favourite foods (14%) – making the new miniature bottle the ultimate solution when cravings are strong, and space is tight.
While many switch off once the out of office is on, nostalgia for home comforts sets in just three days into a holiday, with over half (55%) admitting to missing their favourite local takeaway, as well as their favourite condiments from home. One in five (19%) tend to go with the flow when it comes to menu choices, and indulge in local cuisines, but 51% of Brits admit they would like to have more home comforts at hand when abroad.
Some travellers are so keen to elevate their holidays, that over a third (38%) pack a taste of home with them. The most popular items travellers pack are tea bags, chocolate and condiments, with over 1 in 10 people choosing to bring a Domino’s Garlic and Herb Dip away with them.
Melanie Howe, Head of Domi-Holidays, said: “With the 100ml liquid travel restriction set to last a little longer, it’s only right holidaymakers can still enjoy their trip abroad without having to make any sacrifices.
“We know that home comforts are important for a lot of travellers, so this summer, we are swapping a dip in the pool for a dip BY the pool. Our Garlic & Herb dip is ready to embark on its first ever summer trip, so we wanted to make it possible to enjoy, no matter the destination. Get packing!”
To get their hands on the limited-edition travel accessory, fans should head to www.garlicandherbtrip.co.uk between Wednesday 24th July and Wednesday 31st July – but Garlic & Herb aficionados will have to be quick, as it’s only available until stock lasts.
