Growing in popularity is B!POD, the brand behind revolutionary food vacuum, DRO!D. Designed to give food long lasting freshness, the innovative device has launched after research shown that 9.5 million tonnes of food waste are generated in the UK every year, with 70% produced by households.
Small but mighty, DRO!D is the first ever high-performance vacuum device, which uses innovative technology to keep food fresher for up to 5 times longer, than traditional methods of storage. Made out of ocean-bound plastic, DRO!D comes with a range of containers in different sizes and colours, seamlessly integrating into any fridge of freezer.
Versatile and easy to use, DRO!D containers not only provide the ultimate convenience, but also contribute to environmental conservation, saving up to 5kg of non-recyclable plastic annually.
Specially crafted to accommodate all culinary needs, DRO!D can store food that’s fresh, raw, dry and cooked, in solid and liquid form.
To use DRO!D, simply pop your food into the container, connect it to the vacuum device and press the button to start the process. In just 30 seconds, DRO!D will eliminate 95% of the oxygen molecules, stopping the food oxidation process. This will extend the shelf life of its contents, whilst allowing the food to keep its nutritional properties, without affecting its smell, colour or texture.
The containers can also be frozen, with lack of oxygen in the container, preventing the formation of frost or food becoming “watered down” after defrosting. What’s more, when marinading, the reduced pressure allows the marinade to penetrate the food more effectively, unlocking levels of delicious flavours, much more quickly.
How it works:
Step 1: Fill the container with ingredients & cover with lid
Step 2: Place the DRO!D device on the container
Step 3: Select the mode (DRO!D has two powers high and low)
Step 4: Tilt the device
Step 5: Remove DRO!D and store the container in a pantry, fridge or freezer, same space as usually
Intuitive in design, DRO!D is effortless in operation and boasts user-friendly features. Designed in SAES’ vacuum lab, where every piece of the device is hand-assembled using interlocking joints, the device doesn’t feature any contaminants like glue or screws, to ensure a straightforward recycling process.
Conscious about sustainability and making positive impact on the environment, B!POD contributes 15% of its sales to charities including HIS, WDC and SOS Amazonia.
B!POD comments ‘Globally, and particularly in the UK, food waste poses a significant challenge to our environment. However, by taking small yet meaningful actions such as changing our kitchen habits, we can collectively make a substantial difference. DRO!D empowers individuals to play a proactive role in reducing food waste by preserving freshness and extending the shelf life of perishable items. I’m confident that through conscious choices and innovative solutions like DRO!D, we can work towards a more sustainable future.’
