O’Neill’s pubs are set to tantalise taste buds with the addition of the iconic Guinness Smokey BBQ sauce, made in partnership between The Flava People, seasoning and sauce makers for the last 50 years, and Diageo UK. The sauce will be available on tables and featured on O’Neill’s menus for the next six months.
Now available in all O’Neill’s pubs in the UK, customers can indulge in the mouthwatering ‘Guinness Dirty Fries’. Crispy, golden fries are topped with the rich and flavourful Guinness Smokey BBQ sauce, creating a delicious twist on a comfort classic.
Guinness has a distinct flavour which can serve as a game-changing ingredient, helping chefs add a punch of flavour to any dish. Working together with the Guinness chef team and head beer sommelier, The Flava People has created a range of Guinness products including dry seasonings, wet sauces and bespoke solutions.
Scott Dixon, Managing Director of The Flava People, says: “Our work with Guinness and Diageo UK is a testament to our obsession with creating genuinely innovative and game-changing flavours. The introduction of the Guinness Smokey BBQ Sauce and Guinness Dirty Fries at O’Neill’s offers both diners and the pub group something unique on the menu. By infusing the essence of Guinness into these savoury delights, we’re challenging customers to break free from their culinary norms with versions of their favourite comfort food classics that are, in true Guinness sense, made of more (elevated by way of flavour & texture). We’re excited to see our partnership come to life at O’Neill’s pubs around the UK and are looking forward to what’s to come.”
O’Neill’s will be trialling the products, aiming to demonstrate how featuring the iconic Guinness brand on menus and tables can support both food and beer sales. This venture will determine the potential to establish the Guinness Dirty Fries as a permanent menu item on O’Neill’s menus, as well as create a conversation around incorporating Guinness into menus across other Mitchells & Butlers brands.
The partnership will showcase how licensed products can play a pivotal role in driving beer sales and become an integral part of advancing their strategy moving forward.
