The iconic Caribbean outpost announces new venture
Sip N Tell, the latest venture from the team behind the much-loved Caribbean restaurant group Cottons, is set to open its doors next month in Old Street. Occupying the former Frog by AH coffee shop, Sip N Tell will offer a sophisticated twist on the tiki bar experience, providing classic cocktails with unusual flavours and ingredients.
Bridging the gap between a pre-dinner drink destination and a vibrant cocktail bar, Sip N Tell will offer an escape from the mundane and an invitation to indulge. A place to explore, while also encouraging curiosity and fun.
The creative minds behind Sip N Tell are Head of Bars at Cottons, Nico Beradi, and Michael Hilton – a seasoned hospitality veteran with extensive experience in the industry. With a background at renowned establishments like Calloh Callay and Murder Inc, Michael brings creativity and expertise to Sip N Tell, promising a progressive drinks menu which invites guests on a journey of discovery.
The menu champions homegrown brands alongside local spirits, namely Hoxton Gin, and a concise selection of English sparkling wines. The focus is on showcasing locally sourced ingredients, each expertly extracted and combined with innovative techniques resulting in unique flavour combinations and clarified cocktails.
Signature cocktails include The Floor is Guava – a light, aromatic aperitivo featuring the fragrance of pink guava and umeshu, lifted by makrut lime leaf and lemongrass. Balanced with cinchona bark for a tonic-like quality, this drink is garnished with upcycled guava and ginger fruit leather. Another standout is Instagram Famous – a tropical twist on the classic Naked Famous, combining smoky mezcal, young Jamaican rum, and a vibrant pineapple cordial. Aperol and Strega add a light herbaceous citrus note, with a grilled pineapple candy garnish. The Exotic Colada is a modern twist on a tiki classic. This ultimate tropical beach drink features a unique blend of fat-washed and clarified rum with coconut cream, and topped with white chocolate, delivering a smooth and rich flavour.
