Speyfest is gearing up to repeat its record-breaking 2024 edition as it unveils the first acts on the 2025 bill and launches early bird tickets.
Outstanding Scottish and local talent will top the line up when the long-standing contemporary and traditional Celtic music festival returns from 25th – 27th July 2025.
Located in the village of Fochabers in the north east of Scotland, Speyfest will stage its 28th edition in 2025. This summer saw the annual event enjoy record attendances of more than 4,000, with record numbers travelling to Moray from near and far to soak up three days of live music, activities and food and drink.
Speyfest will look to build on what was one of its most ambitious artistic programmes to date, welcoming a host of global and local talent.
The festival will welcome Celtic giants Skipinnish, who have been celebrating a quarter of a century at the top of trad music this year alongside the Red Hot Chili Pipers, who will perform their signature high-octane, energetic set to Fochabers crowds.
Scotland’s folk sensation Siobhan Miller will bring her acclaimed sound to Speyfest with a full band next summer and Scottish fiddle legends Session A9 will wow concert goers as they make their long-awaited return to the north east festival.
Among the first acts for 2025 to be announced is much-loved local outfit Tour Bus Fortune who will also be back after delighting crowds at the 2024 edition.
A limited batch of early bird tickets, which allow audiences to nab weekend passes at the lowest possible price, go on sale at 12pm today, Thursday 3rd October at https://events.liveit.io/speyfest/speyfest-2025. They will also be available from Christies the Chemist in Fochabers.
Speyfest Chair Ashleigh Macgregor said: “The wheels are in motion as we drive towards our 28th edition of Speyfest and another successful year. Our festival has grown to be a key date on the national cultural calendar, with our approach and ethos rooted in the local community of Moray. To bring talent of this calibre to Fochabers year on year is at the heart of our aims and we cannot wait to see this swathe of sensational Scottish acts grace the Speyfest stage in July 2025. Early birds are the best way to secure your place at Speyfest for the lowest possible price – whether you’ve been part of all 27 previous editions or are interested in joining us for the first time, we would encourage you to come and be part of our event.”
Siobhan Miller said: “I’m over the moon to be heading back to Speyfest with my band, especially after our last visit two years ago which we all loved. It’s one of my absolute favourite festivals, set in such a beautiful part of Scotland. The energy and warmth of the audience always make it a special experience, and I can’t wait to be part of that again.”
First held in 1995, Speyfest has grown from a local event with one small tent holding around 300 people, to a 1500-capacity festival and much-loved jewel in the traditional music calendar in the north-east.
