JING is the tea of choice in Chai By The Shore Afternoon Tea at InterContinental London – The O2
JING Tea is delighted to announce that its single garden loose leaf teas have been selected as part of Chai By The Shore, the sensational new Indian Inspired afternoon tea at InterContinental London – The O2, created by this year’s Bake Off: The Professionals winners Narayan Shrestha and Tanuj Sharma.
With their exceptional purity and clarity of taste, JING’s teas have been chosen to elevate this exciting new take on afternoon tea that is now being served in the hotel’s in-house restaurant, Kinaara, which offers breath-taking views of the River Thames and Canary Wharf.
Responsibly sourced from single tea gardens across Asia, JING’s teas offer an incredible flavour pairing with Chai By The Shore’s traditional tea time dishes that have been fused with the sweet, spicy and hot aromatic flavours of Indian cuisine. Guests can choose from 17 of JING’s teas, including Darjeeling First Flush, Organic Jade Sword and the unique Sparkling Jasmine Pearls.
Each of JING’s handcrafted teas capture the unique and distinctive terroir and craftsmanship of its origin, celebrating the people, cultures and natural resources that produce them. The flavours are simply the flavours of the garden – carefully cultivated by its tea master. They’re as close as you can get to tasting the garden itself.
Felicity Fowler, JING’s Head of Marketing and Tea Experience says, “Our incredible tasting teas have been perfectly paired with the spices and sweetness of Chai by The Shore’s Indian-inspired afternoon tea menu. It really is an afternoon tea experience like no other.”
Chai By The Shore’s reimagined afternoon tea combines traditional Western techniques with the aromatic flavours of Indian cuisine and offers an afternoon tea experience like no other. Kinaara’s chefs have combined their profound knowledge of spices with the culinary heritage of their backgrounds and cherished food memories, to create perfect pairings that seamlessly blend both cultures for an unforgettable culinary journey of sweet and savoury treats.
The tea begins with a selection of traditional Indian street food delicacies including Dhai Puri, Bread Pakora, a Paneer Puff and a traditional Coronation Chicken sandwich with an Indian flare. This is followed by an array of sweet treats: pistachio and choux pastries, mango tart, potti yoghurt cheesecake and then finished off with a selection of scones and rusk with traditional flavours such as clotted cream and rose and strawberry jams, combined with a burst of Indian delights including fennel rusk and butter milk namleka.
The exclusive afternoon tea is available 7 Days a week, 12pm to 4pm. Prices are £55 for Afternoon Tea and £70 for the Champagne Afternoon Tea. Book via https://www.sevenrooms.com/reservations/kinaararestaurant or email [email protected]
