Pioneering English winemaker The Uncommon is set to dazzle the Waitrose Bar at its King’s Cross store with an extraordinary takeover, celebrating English Wine Week.
From 15th-23rd June, The Uncommon’s canned English bubbly wines will be served at the bar alongside a vibrant schedule of activity planned throughout the week
The takeover, a follow-up to the B Corp’s highly successful month-long pop-up in Covent Garden, will feature the winemaker’s signature character illustrations and a captivating English Wine Masterclass led by Phil Norman, Head of Wine, on June 20th.
The activity includes front-of-store and outdoor tastings as well as numerous chances to win exclusive branded merchandise and a luxurious picnic basket and blanket from Coco & Wolf, valued at £650.
Andrew Riding, Events and Experiences Manager at Waitrose, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “English Wine Week is a key calendar date for our customers and has been growing year on year and we couldn’t think of a more fitting takeover than The Uncommon to mark this. Their high-quality on-the-go cans are the perfect summer sip.”
Henry Connell, Co-Founder of The Uncommon reflected that: “Waitrose was one of our first ever listings and it’s amazing to see the growth and to now be able to bring this bar to life. King’s Cross in the summer is the ideal opportunity for us to bring people into our uncommon world.”
The Uncommon’s Bubbly White ‘Gerald’ was the first canned wine to be stocked in Waitrose in 2019. It was later joined by The Uncommon’s Bubbly Rosé ‘Eleanor’ – both available nationwide in 250ml can format (RRP £4.50).
