Construction work is drawing to a close on the site of the former Ospringe Brickworks in Faversham, where Vistry Group is delivering 250 new homes and an investment of almost 1 million in local services.
The housebuilder has already completed all 127 properties at its Davington Fields location – a scheme built under the company’s Bovis Homes brand on the old Yellow Brickworks site.
Now, Vistry is preparing to put the finishing touches to its Ospringe Gardens development, where 123 homes are being built under its Linden Homes brand on the former site of the neighbouring Red Brickworks.
There are just 10 homes still to be built at Ospringe Gardens, with the final properties due to be completed before the end of this year.
As part of the planning agreement for the two developments, Vistry Group is providing funding of almost 1 million for local services and infrastructure. This includes more than 480,000 towards primary education and 110,000 for secondary education.
Further contributions include more than 213,000 for off-site play and allotments, 19,000 towards refuse and recycling, 10,000 towards community learning, 65,000 towards adult social care, 57,000 for libraries, more than 55,000 for measures to avoid adverse effects on special protection areas for birds and wetlands, and more than 13,000 for youth services.
Planning permission for both developments was granted in 2019, with work starting at Davington Fields later the same year and construction getting underway at Ospringe Gardens in 2020.
Candice McCabe, marketing manager at Vistry Kent, said: “Through these two locations, we are contributing nearly 1 million to help support and improve a range of local facilities to benefit new and existing residents in Faversham.
“We are proud to be making this significant investment in the town’s infrastructure. This funding, which was agreed with the local authority through the planning process, will enable services to be upgraded and improved to help cope with the extra demand created by these two developments.
“Some of the contributions will be used to increase capacity at schools within the town while some will be used to provide a new bus service on Lower Road along with three new bus stops and shelters, also along Lower Road.”
All but three of the 76 homes for private sale have now been reserved at Davington Fields, while buyers have also purchased 63 of the 86 private properties at Ospringe Gardens.

Demand for these new homes in this desirable part of the world has been strong and we are continuing to see plenty of interest as building work enters the final stages.
Vistry Kent is part of the Vistry Group, which incorporates Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Countryside Homes.
A selection of new four-bedroom homes are currently available to reserve at Davington Fields, with prices starting at 449,995.
At Ospringe Gardens, there is a choice of three and four-bedroom properties available to purchase, with prices starting from 183,000 with Home Stepper Shared Ownership scheme.
