Many companies when discussing the supply chain make grand claims of traceability, sustainability and ethically sourced products.
But how many companies can tell you exactly where their raw materials come from and how the people working with those materials are treated?
Here at Cred we can.
At Cred, “It is our mission to maintain a short and transparent supply chain from mine to market” says owner Alan Frampton, “supporting the Fairtrade miner in shaking up the industry and freeing consumers to choose where their jewellery comes from.”
Cred has been working with the ASM miners since 1996 and helped to establish the Fairtrade gold market. In 2011 we bought over 2kg of Fairtrade gold, now we are buying 19kg.
We have paid over $400,000 to the miners in social premiums since Fairtrade gold was established. By working very closely with our mines and visiting them twice a year we show our continued dedication to aiding our mines’ growth in the marketplace.
In 2011 Cred made the first Fairtrade Wedding band. Now we present, ‘The Macdesa Collection’, named after the small scale mining operation settled deep within the Andes Mountains, and created with Fairtrade gold and lab grown diamonds.
These diamonds are a victory for the environment, human rights and diamond supply chain transparency. This collection offers complete traceability, making these rings some of the most ethically and sustainably sourced rings on the market.
