Plans to build a major mixed-use development in Newcastle, comprising 550 homes, a primary school and retail space, have been approved. The £64m project is expected to create about 350 jobs.
CEG Land Promotions is behind the project, which is earmarked for land to the south east of Ouseburn.
As a result of the proposal being in outline form, few details have been revealed.
However, CGIs uploaded by the applicant detail the proposed layout.
A report to councillors at Newcastle City Council suggested that the project would cost about £64m.
It will also result in 357 direct and indirect jobs – 142 construction and 215 in the supply chain – being created during the build period.
